CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Providence College softball team was defeated by Harvard, 6-5, on Tuesday, April 18 in Cambridge, Mass.
GAME NOTES
-The Crimson earned an early 2-0 start in the first inning. Harvard's Allison O'Heany hit a two RBI double down the left field line.
-In the top of the fourth inning, sophomore Kaelyn Loncharich (Yucaipa, Calif.) hit a two RBI double to left field to even the score. Senior Tiana Wren (Glen Lyon, Penn.) and sophomore Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) scored the runs for the Friars.
-Harvard regained the lead in the fifth inning scoring three runs, 5-2.
-Freshman Sofia Peterson (Bordentown, N.J.) hit a three-run home run to tie the game in the top of the sixth, 5-5.
-The Crimson responded with an RBI single from Lauren Bobowski to gain a one-point advantage, 6-5.
-Sophomore Jessica Walters (Middletown, Del.) started in the circle for the Friars. She pitched 4.1 innings and allowed three earned runs. Freshman Riley Quirk (Holden, Mass.) came in for relief pitching 1.2 innings.

The Friars will return to Glay Field in Providence, R.I. to host Boston College on Wednesday, April 18.
