Men's And Women's Cross Country Team Ranked In National Polls
Nov. 14, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked among the top teams in the nation according to the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Poll, released on Tuesday, November 14. The Friar men's team is 11th in the nation with a total of 284 points. The women's team is ranked 21st in the poll with 127 points. Wisconsin tops the men's poll with 449 points, followed by Colorado (425), Arkansas (413), Iona (410) and Oregon (400). Stanford is ranked No. 1 in the women's poll with 389 points. Arkansas is second with 372 points, followed by NC State (366), Michigan State (334) and Illinois (319). The Providence men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Monday, November 20 at the 2006 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
