PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team in ranked 15th in the FinishLynx Division I Women's Cross Country National Poll, released on Monday, November 5.

Providence received 203 points and dropped one spot to No. 15. Brigham Young continued its hold on the top spot with 389 points and 12 first place votes. Stanford (378), Colorado (364), Wake Forest (345) and Notre Dame (332) round out the top five.

In their most recent competition, the Friars finished in fourth place at the BIG EAST Championships on Friday, November 1 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Senior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) led the Friars with a fifth-place finish in a time of 20:38. Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) placed sixth right behind McGettigan in a time of 20:40. Also scoring for PC were graduate student Heather Cappello of Lockport, N.Y. (17th - 21:22), junior Emily Tallen of Kingston, Ont. (28th - 21:49) and sophomore Deirdre Byrne of Avoca, Ireland (33rd - 22:04).

The Friars will compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at Van Cortland Park in New York, N.Y. on Nov. 16.
