PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The USTFCCCA released the post conference championships National and Regional Rankings polls on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The latest poll saw the Providence women ranked 10th in the nation and first in the Northeast region.
This past weekend, (Oct. 27-29) was conference weekend around the NCAA. After every team competed for their conference crowns, the results provided some shake ups in the rankings. Colorado returned to top spot in the polls as Oregon slid down to third. San Francisco, NC State, and Arkansas all maintained their positions. Stanford, Michigan and Villanova all moved up. The Providence women are now tied for 10th with Boise State in the latest rankings.
The Friars will race at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. on Friday, Nov. 10. Both teams can secure automatic bids to the NCAA Cross Country Championships by finishing as one of the top two teams in the region. The teams could secure an At-Large bid based on their performances throughout the season if they were to finish outside of the top two.
