Men's And Women's Cross Country Teams Soar In National Poll
Oct. 31, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked among the top-15 in the nation according to the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Poll, released on Tuesday, October 31. The Friar men's team is 12th in the nation with a total of 267 points. The women's team is ranked 10th in the nation with 271 points. Last week, the Providence men's and women's cross country teams claimed the 2006 BIG EAST Cross Country titles at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Wisconsin tops the men's poll with 448 points, followed by Colorado (426), Iona (415), UTEP (401), and Arkansas (394). Stanford is ranked No. 1 in the women's poll with 390 points. North Carolina State is second (367), followed by Michigan (364), Arkansas (359) and Wisconsin (338). The Providence men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday, November 11 at NCAA Regionals in Bronx, N.Y. at Van Cortlandtt Park.
