Providence, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Cross Country polls, released on October 23. The entire poll remained the same following a week in which there was little action on the cross country scoreboard. The men's team is ranked 23rd in the nation with 111 points, while the Friar women check in at No. 22 with 109 points. Oregon leads the men's poll with 13 first-place votes and a total of 390 points. Stanford tops the women's poll with 13 first-place votes and 390 points. Providence recently competed at Pre Nationals in the White Team Race on October 13 in Terre Haute, Ind. The men placed 8th in a field of 40 teams, while the women took ninth as a team in a field of 38. Providence returns to action on October 27 at the BIG EAST Championship in Louisville, Ky. The men's and women's teams will be looking to retain their BIG EAST team titles, which they captured a year ago at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Men's Cross Country - 10/23/07 Points 1.
