PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College cross country junior Kimberly Smith (Auckland, New Zealand) was named Division I Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, October 21. For Smith, it marks the second time this season that she has earned ECAC weekly honors.

Smith won her third meet this season, placing first as Providence captured the Penn State Invitational on October 18. She finished the race in a time of 20:14, while classmate Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) placed second in a time of 20:24.

The Friars will compete again on October 31 at the BIG EAST Championship in Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y.
