PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked 14th in the FinishLynx Division I Women's Cross Country National Poll, which was released on Monday, October 21.

The Friars, who were ranked seventh last week, have not competed since October 11 when they captured the Penn State National Meet at University Park, Pa. Brigham Young continues to hold the top spot with 388 points and 11 first place votes. Stanford (379 points), Colorado (364 points), Wake Forest (347 points) and Georgetown (335 points) round out the top five.

At the Penn State National Meet, senior Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) was the Friars' top scorer with a third place finish in a time of 21:00. Senior Roisin McGettigan of Wicklow, Ireland finished eighth in a time 21:26.

Friars will return to action at the BIG EAST Championships on November 1 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
