Women's and Men's Cross Country Ranked 4th and 8th Nationally
October 20, 1998 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked No. 4 in the country, according to the NCAA Women's Cross Country Poll released on Monday, Oct. 19. PC's men's team is ranked eighth, according to the latest NCAA Poll released Tuesday, Oct. 20. The women's team, led by senior Sarah Dupre (Kingston, Ontario) who finished first in a time of 16:58, captured its eighth New England Cross Country Championship on October 16 at Boston, Mass. The Friars will return to action on Oct. 30 at the BIG EAST Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The Friars will be looking to capture their fourth consecutive BIG EAST title. The PC men's team won its 19th New England Cross Country title on Oct. 16. Senior Ben Noad led the Friars and won the individual title in a time of 23:42. The men's squad, which has won a league leading 12 BIG EAST titles, returns to action on Oct. 30 at the BIG EAST Championship in Boston, Mass. NCAA Women's Cross Country Poll 1.
