Women's and Men's Cross Country Teams Ranked 4th and 8th Nationally
October 13, 1998 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked No. 4 in the country, according to the NCAA Women's Cross Country Poll released on Monday, Oct. 12. PC's men's team is ranked eighth, according to the latest NCAA Poll released Tuesday, Oct. 13. The women's team, which has been idle since winning the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sept. 26, returns to action on Oct. 16 at the New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The Friars have won seven New England Championships since 1988. The PC men's team will try to win its 19th New England title and first since 1996 on Oct. 16.
