Men's And Women's Cross Country Teams Ranked In National Polls
Oct. 10, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked among the top-20 in the nation according to the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Poll, released on Tuesday, October 10. The Friar men's team is 18th in the nation with a total of 185 points. The women's team crept into 10th place in the poll with 272 points. Wisconsin tops the men's poll with 449 points, followed by Arkansas (433), Stanford (413), Colorado (397) and Iona (390). Stanford is ranked No. 1 in the women's poll with 390 points. Colorado is second (373), followed by Michigan (368), Arkansas (344) and NC State (333). The Providence men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday, October 14 at Pre Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. The Friars will then take part in the 2006 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 27 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
