PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked among the top-25 in the nation according to the latest USTFCCCA Division 1 National Poll, released on October 7. The Friar women's team is ranked 20th in the nation with a total of 117 points. The men's team stands strong at 22nd with 110 points.

Oregon tops the men's poll with 360 points, followed by Oklahoma St. (348), Colorado (322), Portland (314), and Wisconsin (313). Washington takes over the rankings as No. 1 in the women's poll with 359 points. The Oregon women got bumped down this week to second (348), followed by Florida State (336), Minnesota (315), and Princeton (306).

The Providence men's and women's cross country teams return to action this weekend, Saturday October 11, 2008 when they compete at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, MA.
