Cross Country Teams Jump In National Poll
Oct. 3, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams each moved up in the USTFCCCA National Poll, which was released on Tuesday, October 3. The women's team, which was previously ranked 16th, moved up to No. 11. The men's team, which was 27th in the poll last week, moved up to 18th (185 points). Stanford tops the women's poll with 390 points, while Wisconsin sits atop the men's poll with 449 points. Last week the Friar men's and women's cross country teams had a stellar performance at the Notre Dame Invitational. The men's team finished second in the 20-team field, while the women's team placed third in a field of 19. The Friars return to action on Saturday, October 7 at the New England Championships. The meet will take place at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
