Women's Cross Country Moves Into No. 7 Spot In Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team was ranked seventh in the country in Monday, October 1's FinishLynx/NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Poll. The Friars advance from the No. 9 position where they where they were ranked in the poll released on September 24.

PC received a total of 241 votes after finishing in second place at the Roy Griak Invitational on September 29 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Colorado sits atop the poll for the third-straight poll period after accumulating 12 of the 13 first-place vote. Stanford remains in the No. 2 spot and picked up one first-place vote. North Carolina St. remains at No. 3 and Brigham Young is joined in the No. 4 position with Arizona St. Rejoining the top 10 is Boston College, who debut in the first poll at No. 2 and fell in the last poll to No. 12. BC garnered 268 points to move into the No. 6 position.

The Friars compete next on Friday, October 12 at the New England Championship at Franklin Park, Boston.
