PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College women's cross country junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) was named the ECAC Division I Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week it was announced on Wednesday, September 26.

McGettigan led the Friars to their second meet victory this season in the Boston College Invitational held on Tuesday, September 18. McGettigan was the Friars' top runner, finishing second overall in a time of 17:19.30, and she led four other Friars who finished in the top 10.

Each week the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, or ECAC, named a male and female division I cross country athlete of the week. On September 19, PC's Hamish Thorpe was named the ECAC's Men's Cross Country Division I Runner of the Week.
