Women's Cross Country Ranked 11th In FinishLynx National Poll
Sept. 21, 2005 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team (255 points) is ranked 11th in the latest NCAA FinishLynx National Poll, which was released on September 21. Duke (384 points) earned seven of the 13 first-place votes to garner the No. 1 position. Colorado (382 points), Notre Dame (364 points), Michigan (348 points) and Stanford (339 points) round out the top five. In the Friars' last competition, the team finished second out of 19 teams at the Fordham Invitational on September 10 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. Providence was led by senior All-American Fiona Crombie (Christchurch, New Zealand), who captured the individual title in a time of 17:48. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, September 24 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn. The meet will begin at 11:10 a.m.
