Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 7 In FinishLynx National Poll
Sept. 14, 2005 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked seventh in the NCAA FinishLynx Preseason National Poll, which was released on September 8. The Friars, who finished third at the 2004 NCAA Championships, began the 2005 season on September 3 and captured a dual meet at the University of New Hampshire. Providence took the top five spots and earned a perfect score (15). Three of PC's runners finished with the identical time of 18:18. Graduate student Aine Hoban (Wakefield, England), junior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) and freshman Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) finished first, second and third, respectively. Most recently, the Friars finished second out of 19 teams at the Fordham Invitational on September 10. Senior All-American Fiona Crombie (Christchurch, New Zealand) captured the individual title in a time of 17:48. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, September 24 when they compete at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.
