Women's Cross Country Ranked 10th Nationally
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked 10th in the country, according to the NCAA Women's Cross Country Poll released on Monday, Aug. 30. The Providence women's team concluded the 1998 season by finishing 14th at the NCAA Cross Country Championship. The women advanced to the NCAA Championship by capturing the 1998 Northeast Regional Championship. The Friars will be led by junior Rachel Hixson (Media, Pa.). Last season, Hixson earned All-America accolades by placing 15th (17:20.32) at the NCAA Cross Country Championship. The PC men's and women's cross country teams will open their seasons at the University of New Hampshire on Friday, September 3 at 3:00 p.m. NCAA Women's Cross Country Poll SCHOOL POINTS 1.
