Women’s Cross Country Ranked No. 1 In Preseason Regional Rankings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its regional preseason rankings today (Aug. 31). The Providence College women are picked to finish first in the Northeast Region, while the men are ranked third.

Last year, the women finished second at the BIG EAST Championship. They also finished second in the Northeast Regional meet to grab an automatic qualifying spot for the NCAA Championships. The team went on to finish 13th in the nation.

The men also finished 13th at the 2014 NCAA Championships after placing third in the BIG EAST and second at the Northeast Regional Championship.

The Friars will make their season debut on Saturday, Sept. 5, when they travel to UNH.
