Shelby Greany won the 2010 Junior Cross Country Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Providence College freshman Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) traveled to Spokane, Wash. to compete at the 2010 U.S. Junior Cross Country Championships and defeated all competitors in a time of 20:27. Freshman Sam Roecker (Charlton, N.Y.) also competed, placing 13th in a time of 21:59. Greany ran the 6K course at a pace of 5:28.9 while Roecker finished at a pace of 5:51.

During the indoor track season, Greany has qualified for BIG EAST Championships in the mile with a time of 4:53.47 at the URI Invitational on January 23. She also qualified for the BIG EAST Championships with a time of 9:33 in the 3,000m at the Boston University Terrier Classic on January 29.

Roecker also has qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the mile and 3,000m. Roecker ran the mile in a time of 5:02.66 at the URI Invitational before running the 3,000m in a time of 9:54.62 at the BU Terrier Classic.
