Women's Cross Country Place Second At CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -

The Providence College women's cross country team finished second at the CCSU Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn. on Friday, Oct. 24. Freshman Brianna Ilarda finished the women’s varsity 3km race in a time of 9:59.14 for the win.

Junior Katie Sischo (Jamesville, N.Y.) and Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) were the second and third Friars to finish. Sischo crossed the line in 10:15.31 for fifth-place, while Keating finished ninth in a time of 10:23.16.

The next Friar to cross the finish line was senior Caile Kohlbrenner (Sparkill, N.Y.). Kohlbrenner finished in the 18th-spot with a time of 10:32.71.

Sophomore Jillian Fanning (Manlius, N.Y.) and junior Kathleen Powell (Wrentham, Mass.) were the fifth and sixth Friars to finish. Fanning finished 25th (10:40.26), while Powell placed 30th (10:49.32).


 

 

Rounding out the Friars top-seven was senior Devyn Pryor (Dartmouth, Mass.). Pryor crossed the line in a time of 10:58.98 for 47th.

The Friars will return to action for the BIG EAST Championships in Carmel, Ind. on Friday, Oct. 31. The women’s race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
