Women's Cross Country Finishes Third At Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, IND. - The 16th-ranked Providence College women's cross country team finished third in the team standings at the Notre Dame Invitational on September 29 in South Bend, Ind. The Friars recorded 120 points in the race, which comprised a total of 19 teams. Michigan won the team title with 57 points, followed by NC State who finished second (95 points). Michigan's Erin Webster won the individual title in a time of 16:36. Sophomore Danette Doetzel (Macklin, Saskatchewan) led all Friar runners with a 14th-place finish in a time of 17:13. Graduate student Aine Hoban (Wakefield, England) placed 19th for Providence in a time of 17:16. Senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.), sophomore Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) and freshman Breffini Twohig (Dublin, Ireland) also scored for Providence. Owen placed 26th in a time of 17:24, DiCamillo finished 27th in a time of 17:24 and Twohig placed 34th (17:33). The Friars return to action on Saturday, October 7 at the New England Championships. The meet will take place at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
