BRONX, N.Y. - The Providence College women's cross country team placed 13th-overall at the Iona Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y, the site of the 2008 BIG EAST Championship. The team was led by sophomore Emma Perron (West Hartford, Conn.), who placed 33rd (23:10.2) over the difficult 6000 meter course. The other scorers for the Friars Squad included junior Amie Schumacher, 80th (23:04.7), senior Katherine Schock, 92nd (24:18.7), freshman Sara Graney, 95th (24:24.1), and junior Samantha Stadt, 105th (24:36.8). The next race for the Friars is Friday October 3, 2008 when they compete at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
