Women's Cross Country Wins Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. -- The 14th-ranked Providence College women's cross coutry team scored 34 points and won its second consecutive meet of the season by placing first of seven teams at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 14 in Hanover, N.H. Senior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) was victorious in her second consecutive meet as she crossed the finish line in a time of 19:05, four seconds faster than Keene State's Mary Prouxl. Sophomore Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) finished fourth in a time of 19:23, while junior Emily Tallen (Kingston, Ont.) finished eighth in a time of 19:44. Also scoring for the Friars, were graduate student Heather Cappello (Lockport, N.Y.) (10th-19:53) and sophomore Deirdre Byrne (Avoca, Ireland) (11th-19:54). The Friars' next competition will be on September 28 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. The meet is scheduled to start at noon. WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Top 10 Finishers 1.
