Men's Cross Country Ready To Race At BIG EAST Championships

The men's race is scheduled to go off at 11:50 a.m.

2003-04: Member of the 2004 New Zealand Olympic Team...Cross Country... Led the Friars throughout the season, winning five of seven events and placing second in the remaining two...second place finishes included the NCAA Championship (19:42) on 11/24 and the Boston College Select Meet (17:02)...captured the NCAA Northeast Regional (20:23) on 11/15...finished first and set a new course record at the BIG EAST Championship (20:01)...also won the Penn State Invitational (20:14) on 10/18, the Roy Griak Invitational (20:17) on 9/27 and the PC Invitational (17:06) on 9/5... on 9/12... Indoor Track... Became the first Friar to receive the prestigious the Honda Broderick Award for Track and Field...earned All-America (3,000 and 5,000 meters) and All-BIG EAST (3,000 meters and 4x800 relay) accolades...was named "BIG EAST Most Outstanding Track Performer", "U.S. Track & Field Coaches Association Northeast Region Athlete of the Year", and "U.S. Track & Field Coaches Association Athlete of the Year"...won each of the six events she competed throughout the season...set NCAA records with first place finishes in the 5,000 meters (15:14.18) and the 3,000 meters (8:49.18)...captured the 3,000 meters (8:55.88) and was a member of the 4x800 relay team that placed first (8:53.95) at the BIG EAST Championship on 2/22...finished first in the 5,000 meters (15:18.54) at the Terrier Classic on 1/31...ran to a first place finish in the 3,000 meters (9:04.90) at the Women's Challenge Cup on 1/17... Outdoor Track... NCAA Champion in the 5,000 meters (15:48.86)...NCAA East Region Champion in the 5,000 meters (15:51.03)...BIG EAST Champion in the 10,000 meters (33:45.81)...member of the 4x800 meters relay team that placed fifth (8:58.20) at the BIG EAST Championship on 5/2...member of the 4x1,500 meters team that finished second (17:34.06) at the Penn Relays on 4/24...shattered the former school record (15:43.00) in the 5,000 meters with a second place (15:09.72) finish at the Mt. Sac Relays on 4/17...member of the 4x1,500 meters team that placed second (17:51.08) at the Raleigh Relays on 3/27...earned All-BIG EAST (10,000 meters), All-NCAA East Region, and All-America (5,000 meters) honors.

2002-03: Competed at the 2002 (Dublin, Ireland) and 2003 (Lausanne, Switzerland) World Cross Country Championships while representing New Zealand...captured the Olympic Development 5,000 meters at the 2003 Penn Relays...will make an immediate impact on the cross country and track teams...will be a contender for the BIG EAST Cross Country title and a possible top-10 finisher at the NCAA's.
