Nov. 18, 2015

Providence College women's volleyball Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson announced that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Providence College on Nov. 17. Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.), Lindsey Schaible (Tampa, Fla.), and Cayla Veverka (Skippack, Pa.) will compete for the Friars in 2016.

"Jenae is a phenomenal athlete" Coach Royer-Johnson said. "She can hit out of every position and has an explosive attack. We are excited to see the dynamic she will bring to PC!"

Alderson is a 5'10" middle blocker and outside hitter, she collected four varsity letters in volleyball for Champlain Park High School. Alderson was voted All-Conference in two of her four years at Champlain. Alderson was an All-State selection in 2015. She is an honor student, accomplished cellist, and bowler.

"Lindsey's height and training at the middle blocker position make her a great asset for us" said Coach Royer-Johnson. "We expect her to fit in right away with an experienced returning squad."

Schaible is a 6'2" middle blocker and finished in the top five middle blockers in the state of Florida, in both of her junior and senior seasons. Schaible recorded 202 kills, 45 service aces, and 185 blocks during her junior year and improved to 229 kills, a .343 hitting percentage, 180 total blocks, and 23 service aces in her senior campaign. Schaible is a member of the National Honor Society and captained her Wharton High School team.

"Cayla is a great fit for our program and conference. Her height is a must at this level and attack is both controlled and powerful. We are so happy she is a Friar!" said Coach Margot Royer-Johnson.

Veverka is a 6'3" outside hitter and has collected 1596 kills, 867 digs, and 223 blocks in her junior and senior seasons at Perkiomen Valley High School. Veverka was named to the Pennsylvania Girls Volleyball First team All-State (Class AAA) in 2013 and 2014 and was names to the Girls Volleyball first team PAC-10 All-Conference in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
