Providence, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team will play its last home match of the season Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. against in-state rival Rhode Island in Mullaney Gymnasium. PC enters the match with a 15-15 record, while URI is 13-13. The match will be televised in its entirety on Cox Sports, airing Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, November 8, Providence defeated Quinnipiac, 3-1, on Senior Day in Mullaney Gymnasium. Senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) led the Providence defense with a career-high 36 digs. With her 21st dig of the match, Krahenbuhl passed Aileen Koprowski and moved into fifth place on the all-time digs list at Providence.

In tonight's match, seniors Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) are in reach of important career milestones. Toney has played in 438 career games, while Sheehan has competed in 435. In the third game of tonight, Toney will move into a tie with Sherryl Jones for fourth place (441) on the Friar all-time games played list and can take over the spot if the match reaches a fourth game. Sheehan will move into fifth place behind Toney.

Providence will look to shut down junior Caitlyn Welsh (Narragansett, R.I.) who leads Rhode Island with 313 kills on the year. Defensively, Welsh also leads the Rams with 285 digs.

Wednesday's contest marks the final regular-season match for the Friars. On November 21 and 22, the team will travel to Orem, Utah to compete in the National Independent Tournament. Providence will join NJIT, Texas-Pan American, Utah Valley State and Houston Baptist in the tournament.
