PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (12-16, 4-6 America East) will travel to Albany (6-17, 6-4 America East) on Friday, Nov. 8 for a 7:00 p.m. match and Binghamton (6-18, 4-6 America East) on Saturday, Nov. 9 for at 3:00 p.m. start. Both games will be streamed live at AmericaEast.TV.
Providence went 1-1 last weekend, defeating UMass-Lowell, 3-0, and losing to New Hampshire, 3-0. Junior Mackenzie Ziegler (Portage, Wis.) led the Friars in kills for both matches recording 13 and 10, respectively. Against UNH, Ziegler registered a double-double (13 digs, 10 kills).
Five Friars rank in the top-10 in the America East statistical categories. Freshman Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) ranks first in digs per set (4.64). Cruz also ranks third in service aces (.42) with teammate, freshman Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) ranking fifth (.31). Sophomore Lindsay Witt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) ranks third in blocks per set (.9.93) and fifth in hitting percentage (.272). Sophomore Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) ranks third with 9.73 assists per set. Ziegler ranks fourth in kills per set (2.83) and Fitzgerald ranks eighth (2.65).
SCOUTING ALBANY: The Great Danes lead the conference in digs per set with 16.31. Albany went 1-1 last weekend, winning at Stony Brook (3-0) and losing at UMBC (3-2). Four of the team's six wins have come in three set matches. Samantha Brostrom leads the team with 2.40 kills per set. Mikala McCauley has registered 6.75 assists per set and Viktoriia Stroilo has 4.55 digs per set.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON: The Bearcats lost to UMBC (3-1) and Stony Brook (3-2) last weekend. Grace Vickers leads Binghamton in kills per set with 2.82. Amanda Dettmann has recorded 9.03 assists per set and Xiomara Ortiz has 4.25 digs per set.
