PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior Kasey Adinolfi (Branford, Conn.) and sophomore Aida Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) were named to the Division I Independent Volleyball 2006 All-Academic team. Adinolfi has a GPA of 3.47 in Biology. She has contributed 38 service aces to the team. Cadres, a Global Studies major, has compiled a 3.29 GPA. Cadres has recorded eight games with double-digit kills. Five of those games were double-doubles in which, she also had double-figure digs.

The Division I Independent women's volleyball all-academic team was selected by sports information directors at member institutions. Nominations from each school were accepted for student-athletes who had at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, had reached at least a sophomore athletic standing, and were a starter or key reserve for the team.

The Friars end the regular season on Wednesday, November 1 at home against Central Connecticut State with a start time of 7:00 p.m. The game will be covered by Cox Sports Television. PC enters the game with a 14-14 record and the Blue Devils bring a 16-7 record to Mullaney Gymnasium.

SCOUTING CENTRAL CONNECTICUT... The Blue Devils enter tonight's match with the Friars with a 16-7 record. They are currently riding a five-game winning streak with their latest wins coming against Wagner and NJIT, this past weekend. CCSU have outblocked their opponents by 50. They are averaging 2.5 blocks per game. The Blue Devils are a perfect 6-0 when the match is decided in four games. CCSU has four players with over 150 kills. Sophomore Amanda Olmstead (Wilmington, Del.) leads the Blue Devils with 205 kills. Senior Brynn Good (Surrey, B.C.) has a team-high 791 setting assists and 37 service aces. After tonight's match, CCSU will travel to Pennsylvania on Saturday, Novmeber 4 for a match with Robert Morris.
