PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (11-14, 3-4 America East) will travel to West Hartford, Conn. to play Hartford (8-15, 2-5 America East) on Sunday, Oct. 27. The match is set to start at 2:00 p.m. and will be streamed on AmericaEast.TV. Providence is tied for fifth in the America East standings and Hartford stands in seventh.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23 the Friars played in-state rival Rhode Island, losing 3-0. Providence was led by Fitzgerald who had nine kills. Sophomore Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) recorded 26 assists and freshman Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) had a team-best in digs with 13. Junior Kelly Ashmore (St. Louis, Mo.) also tallied double-digit digs, adding 12.

Five Friars rank in the top-10 in the America East statistical categories. Cruz ranks first in digs per set (4.60). Cruz also ranks second in service aces (.45) with teammate Fitzgerald in ranking sixth (.31). Sophomore Lindsay Witt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) ranks second in blocks per set (.94) and fourth in hitting percentage (.264). Wiesler ranks third with 9.62 assists per set. Junior Mackenzie Ziegler (Portage, Wis.) ranks fourth in kills per set (2.77) and Fitzgerald ranks ninth (2.57). Nationally, Cruz ranks 19th with .46 service aces per set.

SCOUTING HARTFORD: Sareeta Nethersole leads the Hawks in kills per set with 2.33 on the year. Jackie Tamburri has a team-best 9.70 assists per set and Paola Llerandi registers 3.36 digs per set. As a team Hartford ranks second in the conference in kills per set (12.14) and assists (11.35). The Hawks are 1-2 when playing at home.
