Providence, R.I. -

The Providence College volleyball team will travel to Smithfield, R.I. to take on in-state rival Bryant on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. PC enters the match with a 12-11 record, while the Bulldogs are 13-13. A win Tuesday night would be Providence’s fifth in the team’s last six matches.

The Friars are coming off a 3-0 victory over St. Francis on Friday, October 17 in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) reached an important career milestone in the Friar triumph. Toney’s seven blocks moved her past Jennifer Winslow and into second place on Providence’s all-time list. The 5-10 middle blocker now has 402 blocks for her career. In addition, Toney added a team-best 14 kills to lead the Friars.

Bryant is led by freshman Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.). The 6-2 middle blocker leads the Bulldogs with 248 kills and has contributed 19 service aces. Defensively, senior libero Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) paces Bryant with 414 digs on the year.

The Friars return home on Saturday, October 25 with a match against Chicago State at 4:00 p.m.
