PROVIDENCE, R.I. -The Providence College volleyball team (1-23, 0-6) will host the University of New Hampshire Wildcats (12-10, 4-2) on Saturday, October 20 in Providence, R.I. at 4:00 p.m. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Earlier this season the teams met in Durham, N.H. where the Friars fell in straight sets.
Freshman Lindsay Witt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) leads the Friars with 55 blocks on the season and ranks third in the conference with a 1.00 block per set average in conference play. Sophomore Anna Russian (Round Rock, Texas) leads the Friars in both kills and hitting percentage, with 191 and .231 respectively. Senior Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) leads the team with 338 digs and ranks fourth in the America East with a 4.05 digs per set average.
The Wildcats are coming off back to back losses on the road this past weekend. On Friday, October 12 New Hampshire fell in four sets to Albany and the next day lost a five set match to Hartford. New Hampshire is led by Destiny Tolliver with 82 blocks and a league-high 1.38 blocks per set average in conference play. Three players for the Wildcats have collected over both 150 kills and 100 digs throughout the season.
