PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team had a successful weekend winning two out of three matches to begin the season. The team earned victories against Holy Cross and Sacred Heart in the second day of the Hartford Invitational. Sophomore Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Sarah Fleming (St. Paul, Minn.) were named to the All-Tournament team for their outstanding play last weekend.

Jeanette Toney finished the weekend averaging 2.8 kills per game including 10 against Sacred Heart and 11 against Holy Cross. She also added a team high 15 blocks. Sarah Fleming averaged 2.5 kills per game with a season high 10 in a win over Sacred Heart.

Providence will travel to Baltimore, Md. on Friday, September 8 and play against Navy (2 p.m.) and Youngstown State (4 p.m.).
