    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team will travel to nearby Hamden, Conn. to face Quinnipiac on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m.
    

    The Friars went 1-2 at the DePaul Invitational held on Friday, Aug.30 and Saturday, Aug. 31. PC picked up its first win of the season on Saturday against Chicago State (3-1).

    Providence is led by junior Colleen McCollom (Indian Head Park, Ill.) who leads the team in kills with 29. Juniors Annie Russian (Round Rock, Texas) and Mackenzie Ziegler (Portage, Wis.) have 25 and 24 kills, respectively. Sophomore Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) has a team-best 99 assists and freshman Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) leads the team in digs with 49.

    Russian was named to the DePaul Invitational All-Tournament Team on Saturday and Cruz earned America East Rookie of the Week honors which was announced on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

    QUINNIPIAC (0-4): The Bobcats competed in the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic on Friday, Aug.30 and Saturday, Aug. 31, going 0-4 in the tournament. The team is led by Allison Leigh and Chandler Thornton who have 21 kills apiece. Emma Ogden has a team-best 72 assists and Logan Riker leads in digs with 36.
