Hampton, Va. - Seniors Jeanette Toney and Elizabeth Flynn were selected to the Tiny Laster Memorial All-Tournament Team on Wednesday, September 3. The two middle blockers led the Friars to a 2-2 record in the Hampton University tournament on August 29 and 30. Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) paced the Friars with 55 kills over the team's four matches. She averaged 3.67 kills per game and hit at an impressive .500 clip. Against South Carolina State, Flynn registered a season-high 20 kills and added five total blocks in the team's 3-1 win over the Bulldogs. Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted 43 kills and led the team with 16 blocks during the tournament. In the opening match against Canisius, Toney recorded eight blocks, moving her past Heidi Brady and into fourth place on PC's all-time list with 330. The Friars play their first home match of the season tonight at 7:00 p.m. against Holy Cross in Mullaney Gymnasium.
