Friar Volleyball in Scotland

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College head volleyball coach Margot Royer, junior middle blocker Meredith Gent (Reading, Mass.) and junior defensive specialist Emily Morris (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) participated in the Scottish Open volleyball tournament in Scotland from May 19-26. Representing USA athletes internationally, Royer's squad, which included Gent and Morris, finished second in the competition, falling to the Scottish National Team in the championship match.

Royer's team was comprised of eight collegians from several programs across the country. The group flew to Edinburgh and traveled across the country, playing teams from a number of countries. The squad made sightseeing stops in Glasgow, Stirling, St. Andrew's and Pitlochry before competing in the tournament on May 23 and 24 in Perth.
