PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College volleyball team has added another recruit to their 2013 roster. The five-person 2017 class has added Kayla Johnson from Silver Spring, Md.
Johnson, a 5’ 8” outside hitter, earned four varsity letters playing volleyball while at Rockville High School. She captained the team her junior and senior seasons and was named the team’s MVP her senior season after leading the team in blocks and kills.
"Kayla will make a difference for us right away. She comes from a great club program and has a quick arm swing and strong upper body,” said Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson. “She jumps very well making her a great offensive threat as well as defensive force at the net. She is a great get for Providence on the court and in the classroom."
Johnson, a National Honor Society member, plans to study either biology or psychology.
