Volleyball Announces Additions To Team For The 2018 Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- It was announced on Jan. 18  by Providence College women’s volleyball Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson that three additional student-athletes have committed to play for Providence College. Emma Fink (Western Springs, Ill.), Katherine McLellan (Huntersville, N.C.) and Sarah Daneliak (Naperville, Ill.) will join Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) and Erika Calvagna (Tustin Ranch, Calif.) as members of the 2018 Friar Volleyball team.

Emma Fink is a 6’ 0” Outsider Hitter from Western Springs, Illinois. Fink collected three varsity letters during her time at Lyons Township High School. Over the course of her career, she recorded 541 kills, 86 blocks, and 90 aces. Fink was named to the All-Conference, All-Regional Second Team, and Illinois State All-Star team.

Katherine McLellan is a 5’5” Defensive Specialist from Huntersville, North Carolina. McLellan earned three varsity letters during her sophomore, junior and senior years of high school. She tallied over 1,000 digs during her high school career. She was a part of the William Amos Hough High School team that finished runner up in the State 4A finals.

Sarah Deneliak is a 6’ 0” Middle Blocker from Naperville, Illinois. Deneliak transferred to Providence College this semester from the University of Illinois-Chicago. In her one season of playing for UIC, Daneliak started all 30 matches, tallying 99 blocks, 185 kills, and 21 aces. Daneliak earned two varsity letters at Neuqua Valley High School. Her team was twice conference champions and set the school record for most wins in a season in both 2014 and 2015.
