Lady Friar Volleyball Squad Finishes Second in Texas-Pan American Classic

Edinburg, TX -- The Providence College volleyball squad was runner-up this weekend in the UT-Pan American Tournament. The Lady Friars were 3-1 losing only to Tournament Champion McNeese State.

In the final day of competition, the Lady Friars fell to McNeese State, 3-0 losing by scores of 15-3, 15-9 and 15-12. PC then defeated Texas Southern, 3-0 by scores of 15-3, 15-5 and 15-8.

Senior Heidi Brady (Woodside, CA) and sophomore Colleen Lee (Tonawanoa,NY) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Brady tallied 26 kills on 72 attempts while also chalking up 21 digs and four blocks. Lee tallied 54 assists while also contributing with 19 kills, seven service aces and 33 digs.

Providence, 3-1 overall will host Auburn University in the season opener on Sunday, September 7.
