Volleyball Wins Big East Opener over Seton Hall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College volleyball squad defeated Seton Hall this afternoon in Alumni Hall, 3-0 for their first BIG EAST win of the season. Scores were 15-2, 15-11 and 15-6.

Providence had three players with 11 kills including senior Heidi Brady, sophomore Rachel Doxtater and rookie Heidi Filippi. Sophomore Colleen Lee tallied 26 assists and 13 digs while junior Sherryl Jones tallied four blocks for the Friars.

Seton Hall was led by Jennifer Chesire who recorded a game high 17 kills.

PC improves to 15-6 overall and 1-0 in the BIG EAST. Seton Hall falls to 10-8 overall.
