Providence Volleyball Drops Match Against Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Providence College volleyball team faced the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Friars dropped the match three sets to none. With the loss, Providence moved to 16-14 (5-10) on the season.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence lost the first set with a score of 25-18.
-Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) tallied two kills to lead PC in set one.
-Megan Onyundo (Woodbridge, Va.) recorded four digs.
-Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) led the Friars with four assists and a service ace in the first set.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence dropped the second set with a score of 25-13.
-Cayla Veverka (Collegeville, Pa.) led Providence with three kills in set two.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Friars lost the third and final set with a score of 25-18.
-Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) added six kills in set three.
-Barber recorded 11 assists in the final set.

MATCH HIGHS:
-Veverka led the Friars with seven kills. Root was second on the team with six.
-Barber recorded 21 total assists on the day.
-Root and Chicyia Clark (Huntington Beach, Calif.) both recorded seven digs.

NEXT UP:
The Friars face the Xavier Musketeers on Sunday, Nov. 12.
