Volleyball Defeated By Stony Brook, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Stony Brook, 3-0, in an America East match on Friday, November 11 at Mullaney Gym in Providence. Stony Brook won by the scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-14. With the win, Stony Brook improved to 14-12 overall ( 7-5 in league action) while the Friars fell to 8-21 overall and 2-9 in America East action.

The Friars were led by senior Lauren Hendel (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) who had a team-high nine kills. She also added five digs. Sophomore Anne Powers (La Selva Beach, Calif.) had 12 digs in the loss.

Stony Brook's Alicia Nelson had a match-high 14 kills to lead her team.

Providence College will wrap up its season with its final match on Sunday, November 13 versus UMBC at 1:00 p.m. at Mullaney Gym. It will mark the final home match for the Friar seniors.
