VILLANOVA, Pa. - Providence College was defeated by Villanova, 3-0 (30-20, 30-23, 30-15), in BIG EAST volleyball action on Saturday, November 9 at Nevin Fieldhouse in Villanova, Pa.

With the loss, Providence falls to 2-26 on the season and 0-10 in BIG EAST play. Villanova improves to 15-16 overall and 4-6 in conference matches.

The Friars had only 25 kills in the match, with senior Sandy Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y) leading the squad with eight kills. Freshman Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) notched nine digs on defense for Providence.

The Friars will be in action again on Sunday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. against Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
