Providence, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team defeated Quinnipiac, 3-1, on Saturday, November 8 in Mullaney Gymnasium on Senior Day. The Friars won the match with game scores of 25-12, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-17. With the win, PC moves to 15-15 while Quinnipiac drops to 4-28.

The Providence seniors made the most of their time in the spotlight. Senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) led the Providence defense with a career-high 36 digs. With her 21st dig of the match, Krahenbuhl passed Aileen Koprowski and moved into fifth place on the all-time digs list at Providence. The 5-7 defensive specialist now has 1,396 digs for her career.

Senior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) paced the Friar attack with 15 kills and added four total blocks. Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 12 kills and eight digs. Setting up the Friars was senior Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.), who posted 35 assists.

Providence plays another match at home on Wednesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. against in-state rival Rhode Island. The contest will be played in Mullaney Gymnasium.
