Volleyball Defeated By Binghamton, 3-1

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Binghamton, 3-1, in an America East match on Friday, November 4 at Mullaney Gym in Providence, R.I. The Bearcats earned the win after dropping the first set, 25-19, then capturing the next three sets, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-23.

    Senior Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Friars with 15 kills. Senior Carly Morrison (Larkspur, Calif.) added a match-high 42 assists for Providence. Freshman Colleen McCollom (Indian Head Park, Ill.) recorded 18 digs in the defeat.

    Binghamton was led by Kristin Hovie who recorded 15 kills.

    With the win, Binghamton raised its record to 12-16 overall and 4-6 in league play. The Friars fell to 8-19 overall and 2-7 in America East play.

    Providence will return to action on Sunday, November 6 versus Albany at Mullaney Gym at 4:00 p.m.
