PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College sophomore Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) hit for a team-high 13 kills on 29 attempts for a .310 hitting percentage, but the Friars failed to capture their first conference match, falling to Boston College, 3-0, in BIG EAST volleyball action on Friday, October 18 at Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I.

With the loss, Providence falls to 2-20 overall and 0-5 in BIG EAST play. Boston College improves to 11-11 overall and 2-3 in conference matches.

Freshman Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) registered a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs for the Friars, while teammate Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) added 8 digs.

The Eagles were led by Rachel Bach, who notched a match-high 19 kills on 41 total attempts for a .317 hitting percentage.

Providence College will take to the road for its final non-conference match of the season. The Friars will play Sacred Heart on Saturday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. in Fairfield, Conn.
