NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Providence College women's volleyball team defeated Iona College, 3-1, in a non-conference volleyball match on Tuesday, October 16 in New Rochelle, N.Y.

The Friars (5-14 overall) won a marathon of a first game, winning by a score of 43-41. The Gaels won the second game, 30-26, and then PC finished the match off by winning games two, 30-24, and three, 31-29.

PC senior Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) led all players with 24 kills and a team-high 18 digs. Her classmate, Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.), added 23 kills and eight digs. Freshman middle blocker Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 17 kills, seven digs and four blocks.

Providence plays on Wednesday, October 17 at Manhattan College at 6:00 p.m.
