BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Providence College volleyball team defeated St. Francis on Friday evening, October 13, 2006. The Friars improve to 9-13 on the season with their second consecutive win. Providence won the games 30-18, 30-16, 30-18.

In the 3-0 victory, the Friars were led by sophomore Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who had a successful homecoming to Brooklyn with a match-high 14 kills. The 14 kills by Toney, marked the fifth straight game the sophomore had double figures in kills and has double figures in 14 of the 22 matches this season. Sophomore Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) recorded a match-high 29 assists and added four kills. Freshman Jess Storer (Wantagh, N.Y.) had nine kills, two assists, and eight digs in the three game sweep.

The Friars return to action with a match at St. Peter's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14.
