The Providence College volleyball team defeated Sacred Heart, 3-0, on Tuesday, October 7. The Friars won the match with game scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-19. Providence's third-straight win puts the Friars at 11-10 on the year, while the Pioneers drop to 12-5.

Senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) paced the PC defense with 14 digs and added two service aces. The 5-7 defensive specialist leads the Friars with 271 digs for the season. Leading the Friar offense was senior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) with eight kills. Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added six kills, seven digs and eight total blocks in another strong all-around effort for Providence. Co-captain Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) set up the offense with 16 assists and also contributed five digs.

Providence's next match is Tuesday, October 14. The Friars will host Central Connecticut State at 7:00 p.m. in Mullaney Gymnasium.
