Friars Roll Past St. John's in Volleyball

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Providence College volleyball squad defeated St. John's University this afternoon, 3-0 in Alumni Hall. Scores were 15-5, 15-11 and 15-11.

Sophomore Sarah Katinger (Stratford, CT) led the Friars tallying 14 kills while sophomore Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, IL) tallied 11 kills and 12 digs. Friar setter Colleen Lee (Tonawanda, NY) tallied 45 assists and a team high 13 digs. The Red Storm was led by Olga Roudovski (Brooklyn, NY) with 16 kills.

The Friars recorded a .233 attack percent for the match while they held St. John's to only a .130 attack percent.

Providence improves to 6-8 and 1-1 in the BIG EAST. St. John's falls to 10-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
